KraussMaffei - Building most scalable products and business models suitable for
15. Mar 2018 11:30 - 13:00
3.1 - Floor - Workshop 4
Investors love to put money into startups that are scalable, and ready to scale. Therefore, the business model needs the potential to multiply revenue with minimal incremental cost to expand to new geographies and markets. A software product is a classic example of a scalable solution, since it costs real money to build the first copy, but unlimited additional copies can be quickly duplicated for almost no incremental cost. Industrial goods like production machinery are in the first instance not scalable. Therefore, adding value to existing and new products by using digital applications might be the key to optimize leverage on production processes. In this workshop we are focusing on IoT and other technologies and explore opportunities and challenges regarding new product ideas and business fields. Based on existing products and business examples, we discuss the benefits and differences between connected and off-line machinery and services and give insights into the machine manufacturing industry. We look forward to your participation!
